Anne Wilson

Who is Anne Wilson? The modern-day rebel

Anne Wilson, the rising star in both Christian and Country music has released her 16-track album “REBEL.”

Wilson celebrated the album’s release with a spirited performance of the title track, “REBEL,” on The 3rd Hour of TODAY this morning. Alongside the release, she announced her upcoming headlining REBEL Tour, set to kick off on Sept. 12, featuring special guest Jordan Rowe. Tickets for the 28-stop tour will be available for presale starting at 10 a.m. local time on Tuesday, April 23, and general on-sale will begin on Friday, April 26 at 10 a.m. local on her official website.

In a statement to Nuevo Country, Wilson expressed her gratitude for the collaborative effort behind the album, stating, “I have worked so hard on this record. I poured my heart and soul into every single song.” She emphasized the significance of her faith journey, saying, “When I think about this new album and this set of songs, all I see is the faithfulness of God.”

When did Anne Wilson start her career?

With her debut single “My Jesus,” Anne Wilson charged into the music scene three years ago, channeling her faith as a source of healing following the tragic loss of her brother. Now, with “REBEL,” Wilson blends contemporary Christian and Country music seamlessly, paying homage to her Lexington roots.

The album serves as an introspective autobiography, showcasing Wilson’s versatility as “a genre-blender in the truest, most artistically satisfying meaning of the word” (Holler).

Highlighted on the album is the energetic track “Songs About Whiskey,” accompanied by a new music video.

Wilson fearlessly navigates the intersection of her faith and Country roots, delivering a message of redemption and renewal.
