Morgan Wallen’s “Redneck” Teaser

The album announcement follows Morgan Wallen’s teaser for his upcoming new song “Redneck.”

The preview suggests another provocative piece aimed at a particular demographic.

In the Instagram video, which runs for approximately 1 minute and 25 seconds, Wallen appears to take shots at city dwellers.

The song begins with the lyrics: “Hey Mr. City Man, [Rolex] on your wrist / NASDAQ in your hand / rolling your eyes at my beat-up truck.”

Throughout the song, Wallen continues to highlight the differences between lifestyles in Tennessee, expressing a desire for the traditional American way of life to persist.

The reality of the current American lifestyle

In one line, he sings, “When you die, I hope you come back as a redneck,” seemingly criticizing the city dwellers lifestyle while many Americans struggle to make ends meet.

Against the backdrop of record-high inflation and in the midst of an election year, this song reflects the current American experience.
