Mickey Guyton reveals how her new song “scary love” draws from son’s near-death experience

Mickey Guyton visited “The Jennifer Hudson Show” and opened up about the harrowing ordeal that inspired her new song, “Scary Love.” In an emotionally charged interview, Mickey shares about a period of turmoil in her life following the 2021 Country Music Awards, when her son faced a life-threatening illness.

Returning home from the CMAs, Mickey found her son severely ill from a stomach bug. After three emergency room visits and a diagnosis of sepsis, Mickey recalls the terrifying moment upon arrival at the hospital when her son wasn’t conscious and the intense medical attention he received.
