messed up as me

Listen here: Keith Urban’s “Messed Up as Me”

Keith Urban has “Messed Up As Me” from his as-of-yet, unnamed album.

“MESSED UP AS ME”

“Let’s put it this way,” says Urban, who debuted the song during CRS at The Ryman Auditorium, part of the annual Team UMG luncheon. “Most of us have been in dysfunctional relationships before, where there’s not a lot of compatibility, except for that one area where it’s so good you put up with all the rest. A phone call or a night out and you’re right back where you shouldn’t be.”

Musically there’s an unresolved quality to the song. Just like a dysfunctional relationship, it’s a cycle of always going back to what you know. “Messed Up As Me”, is produced by Urban and longtime co-producer Dann Huff, and follows last month’s release of “Straight Line.” Both are expected to be on Urban’s album slated for release later this year.

Where was Keith Urban born?

Born in New Zealand and raised in Australia, Keith Urban is one of country music’s biggest superstars and most talented musicians. Keith released his debut self-titled album in 1999 on the label he remains on today, Capitol Records Nashville, and has since continued to entertain fans globally.

What is Keith Urban Known for?

Keith Urban’s is mostly known for his album FUSE, his fourth #1 album, which marked the first time that a male Country artist had debuted atop the all-genre charts in the United States, Canada, and Australia. FUSE’s first single, “Little Bit of Everything” took the top spot on the Country Singles Chart, as did “We Were Us”, featuring Miranda Lambert, which gave Urban a streak of five consecutive #1 songs (dating back to 2011’s “Without You”).

In fact, with the release of FUSE’s fourth single “Somewhere In My Car”, his third #1 from the album, Keith extended his lead as the artist with the most consecutive top 10 songs on Billboard’s Country Airplay Chart, a streak which started in August of 2000.
