Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk Set for Grand Opening

Nashville’s downtown landscape is gearing up for the much-anticipated grand opening of Garth Brooks‘ Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk on March 7. Acquiring the property at 411 Broadway in December 2021, Brooks has transformed the space formerly occupied by Paradise Park and Downtown Sporting Club.

The four-story, expansive 54,715-square-foot venue, which has seen partial openings over the past weeks, is poised to reveal its full glory during the upcoming grand opening. Notably, the establishment will also house a police substation, developed in collaboration with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

Friends in Low Places Bar keeping tradition

The first two floors will pay homage to classic honky-tonks. Featuring a custom-built, retractable live music stage adorned with the iconic “Circle G” emblem, repurposed from Brooks’ record-breaking Central Park performance, these floors boast the largest LED screens on Lower Broadway. The first floor, designed for entertainment, includes two bars, a dance floor, and ample seating. The second floor offers two additional bars and a mezzanine providing prime views of the stage below.

Elevated Experiences

Venturing upward, the third floor is dedicated to intimate private event spaces. Complete with a double-sided fireplace and an intimate patio, this floor can accommodate gatherings of up to 250 guests. The rooftop fourth floor, aptly named The Oasis, promises a high-flying experience with two full bars.

A Culinary Collaboration with Trisha Yearwood

While Friends in Low Places has already introduced a limited menu, the grand opening will mark the debut of menus crafted by Trisha Yearwood. Renowned as a musician, author, and television star, Yearwood, who is also Brooks’ wife, draws inspiration from her bestselling cookbooks and her show Trisha’s Southern Kitchen. The menu will feature Southern comfort dishes, including meatloaf, fried chicken with white gravy, and a variety of side dishes. Food service will be available from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.

Expressions of Gratitude

Expressing his gratitude to Nashville, Brooks remarked, “If you are one of the lucky ones who come to this town and receive its many blessings, don’t you owe something to Nashville?” Yearwood echoed the sentiment, expressing her honor to be part of the project and work alongside her husband.

Operating Hours and Accessibility

Friends in Low Places Bar and Honky Tonk will welcome patrons seven days a week. Operating hours are from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Mark your calendars for the grand opening on March 7, as downtown Nashville prepares to celebrate the arrival of this iconic establishment.

On the other hand, personalities like Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, Garth Brooks, Florida Georgia Line, and Miranda Lambert have already left an indelible mark on the lively scene. Now, Old Dominion is also gearing up to open a bar in Nashville.

Anticipated to open its doors in the summer of 2024, Odie’s, a brainchild of the country band, is strategically positioned in Nashville’s Midtown area, steering clear of the bustling Broadway strip often thronged by tourists. Shedding light on the location choice, Matthew Ramsey, lead singer of Old Dominion, underscores the neighborhood’s historical significance to the band:

“Midtown in Nashville has played such a role in the history of our band, from unwinding at the bar after writing sessions to performing weekly well into the early hours. It’s a crucial neighborhood not just for emerging artists and writers but also for locals or tourists seeking a reliable spot for a good time. Odie’s aims to be that neighborhood bar for everyone.”

The discreet development of this project over the past year culminated in a reported $7 million sale of the building site in May 2022. This understated approach aligns with the band’s vision to create an authentic and intimate space for patrons.
